Personal Trainers should always be positive role models for their clients, helping them to stay inspired and motivated, while having an in depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics so as to be effective on the gym floor.:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Consulting prospective and current clients on how to best reach their fitness goals
• Suggesting and selling personal training packages that are appropriate for their clients’ goals and budget
• Writing and regularly updating personalized workout plans in line with client’s goals
• Guiding clients through workouts and giving feedback cues to ensure safety
• Thoroughly logging and recording results of assessments and workouts
• Demonstrating movements with proper technique
• Cleaning and disinfecting equipment and surfaces used during training
• Assisting members and clients with gym equipment use
• Scheduling appointments and communicating with clients between workouts
• Keeping client and member records up to date, and scanning and filing documents in physical and digital storage
• Light cleaning and maintenance duties around the facility
• Duties responsibilities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time
Necessary Skills
• Must speak, read, and write fluently in English
• Basic computer operation
• Ability to speak to people in a friendly and well natured manner
• CPR, AED, and basic lifesaving skills
• All applicable skills related to personal training
Additional Helpful Skills
• Outside sales
• Social media management and professional creative social media writing
Compensation
• Sliding hourly base pay for personal training sessions starting at 46% of revenue generated through training (~$28+hourly)
• Pay increase with further credentials, education, hours worked per pay period, and training experience
• Floor hours / cleaning / prospecting at $15/hourly (2 hours/wk required – Max floor hours set by management may change)
• Opportunity for commissions on gym membership sales
Working Conditions
Indoor studio, climate controlled, performing light physical activity such as demonstrating movements.
Dress Code & Hygiene
• Pike Fitness Trainers will wear athletic polo shirts and golf pants or shorts during training sessions. When not actively training (working out etc.) be presentable in general, wearing clean athletic clothing
• Maintain a neutral scent, avoiding strong colognes, perfumes, or body odor.

Supervisory Responsibilities
• Directly supervise clients during 1-on-1 sessions
• Ensure that other exercisers are safe while training, and following posted gym rules.
• Politely remind members of such rules if required
• Help train new hires once proficient with position
Physical Demands
• Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 105lbs
• Must be able to perfectly perform any movement expected of a client
• Must be able to complete light cleaning duties such as vacuuming, emptying trash bins, etc.
Required Education and Experience
• One or more NCCA accredited credentials in Personal Training
• High school diploma or equivalent

Pike Fitness Front Desk / Reception Job Description
Front desk staff at Pike Fitness will most likely be the first team member a prospective member or client will speak with, and thus will be many peoples' first impression of the company. That said, front desk staff is the face of Pike Fitness.
These team members are pivotal to our mission success and act as liaison between our customers and trainers at the studio. The ability to help manage our trainer's schedules and client's accounts will be essential for this position.
Receptionists should always be positive, cheerful, and make our clients and members feel welcome, while also completing a variety of front desk tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Welcoming studio guests and checking them in for appointments
• Providing walkthroughs of the facility
• Selling services and memberships, guiding new member through completing appropriate paperwork, and getting new clients fully set up with their accounts
• Taking and processing payments from members and clients
• Answering and making phone calls and emails on behalf of the company, and forwarding to appropriate staff when necessary
• Answering members’ questions, or directing questions to other qualified staff
• Helping with organizing office area and keeping tidy
• Maintaining supplies around the gym and placing orders when inventory is low
• Assisting members and clients with gym equipment use
• Scheduling appointments and meetings for trainers and coordinating with clients regarding the meetings
• Keeping client and member records up to date, and scanning and filing documents in physical and digital storage
• Light cleaning and maintenance duties around the facility
• Duties responsibilities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time
Necessary Skills
• Must speak, read, and write fluently in English
• Basic computer operation

• Artistic ability to help with creating promotional signage for our outdoor chalkboard A-frame

• Experience with the MINDBODY business suite for gym management
Compensation
• $15/hourly base pay with opportunity for commissions on sales
• Free gym membership including professionally designed program
Working Conditions
Indoor studio, climate controlled, and performing mostly clerical and customer service duties
Dress Code & Hygiene
• In general, be clean and well put together, but don’t stress dress code too much. Wear what feels comfortable and is presentable in public. Athletic wear is probably a good idea, but not mandatory.
